ATASP-1 Kebbi-Sokoto Zone conducted yet another round of Community Training on nutrition and health program at Kamba
town of Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State,
The training highlights on issues of malnutrition and nutrition awareness, environmental sanitation/hygiene,
complementary foods, as well as practical on food processing and many relevant topics.
ATASP-1 Kebbi-Sokoto Zone conducted community training on nutrition and health program at Argungu Local Government Area
of Kebbi State.
Participants were drawn from the Local Government and other neighbouring communities.
The Zonal Gender Specialist with support of the Outreach Team conveyed a successful training on issues of malnutrition
and nutrition awareness,
Complementary food, environmental sanitation/hygiene and practical on food processing among others.
The Training is to be carried out from 25th October to 3rd November, 2022.
The Zonal Programme Coordinator (ZPC), ATASP-1, Kano-Jigawa, Alh. Auwalu Ado Shehu, conducted rounds
with some of the contractors who bidded for the rehabilitation and construction of Bagwai Irrigation Scheme and Gafan
Dam projects in Kano State.
The visit included the National Programme Coordinating Team (NPCT) and the Zonal Programme Coordinating Team (ZPCT),
preparatory to the Pre-Bid meeting which will be held today 25/10/2022 at the Zonal Headquarters in the Metropolis.

Agricultural Transformation Agenda Support Programme Phase One (ATASP-1) Kebbi-Sokoto Zonal Office conducted Training of
Trainers (TOT) training on Enterprise Management and Business Skills for ATASP-1 Farmers Organisations in the Zone.
The
training covers group dynamics and management of ATASP-1 farmers organisations and farmers organisation business model
among other related and relevant topics.

Committee (CPMC) on Sustainability and Management Strategies of ATASP-1 Infrastructure.
The team was in Alwasa Community of Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State earlier this morning.
The training covers The role of CPMC on maintenance of ATASP-1 projects, revenue generation for maintenance,
environmental sanitation/hygiene as well as borehole/hand pump operation and maintenance.

A two day Training and Promotion of Community Seeds Producers in Bida-Baddegi ATASP-1 Staple Crop Processing Zone is
presently ongoing at Bologi event palace, Bida.
Speaking at the venue, the National Program Coordinator (NPC), Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Arabi represented by the Outreach
Specialist, Mr. Festus Izuakor said seeds are critical input in Agricultural Production and they play a major role in
determining the level of crops yields and farmers investment profitability.
He noted that one of the major challenges facing rural farmers in ATASP-1 intervention areas is the shortage of quality
Seeds
According to him, ATASP-1 as its exit strategy encouraged and developed Community Seeds Producers to supply improved
seeds to the communities in collaboration with relevant Agricultural Research Institutes.
Dr. Arabi explained that the main objective of the training is to train and promote Community Seeds Producers in the
seven Local Government Areas of Bida-Baddegi Zone of ATASP-1 as seed entrepreneurs for cassava, rice and sorghum.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Zonal Programme Coordinator, Engr. Ibrahim Haruna Manta announced that so many
seeds producers have been able to produce seeds and meet up with the mandate of ATASP-1, making it as an agric business.
He expressed happiness while stating that seeds producers have been able to build Houses and bought cars from the
proceeds of agriculture. and added that ATASP-1 will continue to intervene where necessary.
